"Listening Skills."

Dean Gotcher

"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:16

You either suspend, as upon a cross, your "feelings" (humble, deny, die to, control, discipline your "self") in order (as in "old" world order) to hear the truth or you suspend, as upon a cross, truth in order (as in "new" world order) to 'justify' your "self," i.e., to 'justify' your "feelings," i.e., your desire for ("lusting after") the carnal pleasures 'moment' (dopamine emancipation), which the world is stimulating, thereby 'justifying' your dissatisfaction with, resentment toward, hatred of the father's/Father's authority which gets in the way (of pleasure). In essence, according to this 'logic,' "truth" is 'discovered' in compromise, i.e., in suspending the truth in order to initiate and sustain, i.e. "build relationship" with your "self" and with others, according to your and their carnal nature, i.e., according to your and their "self interest" of the 'moment,' which you and they have in common—which is the basis of common-ism.

"Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." Luke 16:15

"In the dialogic relation of recognizing oneself in the other, they experience the common ground of their existence." (Jürgen Habermas, Knowledge & Human Interest, Chapter Three: The Idea of the Theory of Knowledge as Social Theory)

The former is a world based upon the father's/Father's authority, where doing right and not wrong according to established commands, rules, facts, and truth controls the conversation (where preaching, teaching, and discussion is the means of communication), engendering a guilty conscience in you when you do wrong, disobey, sin. The latter is a world based upon the child's carnal nature, where your love of pleasure, i.e., your "lusting" after the carnal pleasures of the 'moment' which the world is stimulating, i.e., your "self interest" controls the conversation (where dialogue is the means of communication)—'justifying' the negation of the father's/Father's authority and the guilty conscience which it engenders—so you can do wrong, disobey, sin (be "of and for self") with impunity.

"To enjoy the present reconciles us to the actual." (Karl Marx, Critique of Hegel's 'Philosophy of Right')

"Self-actualizing people have to a large extent transcended the values of their culture. They are not so much merely Americans as they are world citizens, members of the human species first and foremost." (Abraham Maslow, The Farther Reaches of Human Nature)

In the former the father/Father sets the standards: 1) preaching commands and rules to be obeyed as given, teaching facts and truth to be accepted as is, by faith, and discussing with the children any questions they might have regarding his/His commands, rules, facts, and truth (at his/His discretion—providing he/He has time or there is time, the children are able to understand, and they are not questioning, challenging, defying, disregarding, attacking his/His authority), 2) blessing and/or rewarding his/His children when they obey and do things right, 3) chastening and/or correcting them when they do wrong and/or disobey (in order for them to learn to humble, deny, die to, control, discipline their "self" and do what is right and/or obey), and casting out (expelling) any child who questions, challenges, defies, disregards, attacks his/His authority.

"Sense experience must be the basis of all science." "Science is only genuine science when it proceeds from sense experience, in the two forms of sense perception and sensuous need, that is, only when it proceeds from Nature." (Karl Marx, MEGA I/3)

"Experience is, for me, the highest authority." "Neither the Bible nor the prophets, neither the revelations of God can take precedence over my own direct experience." (Carl Rogers, on becoming a person: A Therapist View of Psychotherapy)

"'It is not really a decisive matter whether one has killed one's father or abstained from the deed,' if the function of the conflict and its consequences are the same [the father no longer has authority in his home, i.e., over his children]." Freud's history of society (and therefore psychology) is based upon the children's ("sons") "hatred against patriarchal suppression—a 'barrier to incest'," i.e., "the desire (for the sons) to return to the mother—[which] culminates in the rebellion of the exiled sons, the collective killing and devouring of the father." "Freud's individual psychology is in its very essence social psychology." "If the guilt accumulated in the civilized domination of man by man can ever be redeemed by freedom, then the 'original sin' must be committed again: 'We must again eat from the tree of knowledge in order to fall back into the state of innocence.'" (Herbert Marcuse, Eros and Civilization: A philosophical inquiry into Freud)

"The guilty conscience is formed in childhood by the incorporation of the parents." "We must return to Freud and say that incest guilt [the parent's standards of morality] created the familial organization." "The repression of normal adult sexuality [the "repression" of the child's carnal nature] is required only by cultures which are based on patriarchal domination." "Human consciousness can be liberated from the parental (Oedipal) complex only be being liberated from its cultural derivatives, the paternalistic state and the patriarchal God." "To experience Freud is to partake a second time of the forbidden fruit;" (Norman O. Brown,, Life Against Death: The Psychoanalytical Meaning of History)

In the latter psychologists, i.e., group psychotherapists, i.e., facilitators of 'change', i.e., Transformational Marxists, using the dialoguing of opinions ("feelings") to a consensus (affirmation) method or formula (the dialectic process or dialectic 'reasoning,' i.e., 'reasoning' from "feelings") in the group grade," "safe zone/space/place," "Don't be negative," "Be positive," soviet style, brainwashing, "Bloom's Taxonomy," affective domain classroom (even being used in some homeschooling material/classrooms today), seduce, deceive, and manipulate all who come before them, turning them into chickens, rats, and dogs (called "human resource"), negating the father's/Father's authority in their thoughts and actions ("theory and practice"), thereby negating the guilty conscience for doing wrong, disobeying, sinning, so they can do wrong, disobey, sin with impunity (called the negation of negation—since the guilty conscience and the father's/Father's authority which engenders it is "negative" to the child's carnal nature, negating them would be "positive," i.e., right, i.e., good in the eyes of the child). By placing anyone seeking truth in a dialogue ("feelings") based environment, their "listening skills" will become manifest, revealing whether they are "feelings" based or "facts" based in their "listening skills," requiring them to become "feelings" based in their "listening skills" if they are to become a part of "the group," turning them against those who are facts and truth based in the process. It is just that simple.

"There are many stories of the conflict and tension that these new practices are producing between parents and children." (David Krathwohl, Benjamin S. Bloom, Taxonomy of Educational Objectives Book 2: Affective Domain) All "educators" are certified and schools accredited today based upon their use of what are called "Bloom's Taxonomies" in the classroom. The "educator" who uses "Bloom's Taxonomies," i.e., who 'changes' the curriculum to where the students can dialogue their opinions to a consensus—finding common ground with one another based upon their love of pleasure and hate of restraint—does not have to tell the students to question, challenge, defy, disregard, attack their parent's authority when they get home (if they were not already doing that), the students will do that automatically after participating in the "group think" classroom the "educator" has created.

"The child takes on the characteristic behavior of the group in which he is placed. . . . he reflects the behavior patterns which are set by the adult leader of the group." (Kurt Lewin in Wilbur Brookover, A Sociology of Education)

The "listening skills" of today are those of a spoiled child, i.e., "Make me 'feel' 'good' and I will (like) listen to you." These were the same "listening skills" which were being advocated by men such as Immanuel Kant, Georg Hegel, Karl Marx, and Sigmund Freud in the past—doing the praxis of Genesis 3:1-6, i.e., believing a lie (that the child's carnal nature, i.e., the heart is "good" or can become "good" via. proper training and education, i.e., learning to 'reason' from/through their "feelings" instead of from established commands, rules, facts, and truth), negating Hebrews 12:5-11, thereby negating Romans 7:14-25 in the process.

"We have to study the conditions which maximize ought-perceptiveness [the conditions that stimulate the child's dissatisfaction with, resentment toward, hatred of the father's/Father's authority]." "Oughtiness [how the world "ought" to be—a world without the father's/Father's authority] is itself a fact to be perceived." "If we wish to permit the facts ["feelings"] to tell us their oughtiness [their love of pleasure and dissatisfaction with, resentment toward, hatred of authority], we must learn to listen to them in a very specific way [setting aside, i.e., suspending, as upon a cross, i.e., negating any command, rule, fact, or truth that gets in the way of "feelings," i.e., that prevents, i.e., inhibits or blocks dialogue] which can be called Taoistic." (Abraham Maslow, The Farther Reaches of Human Nature)

"This voice [doing right and not wrong according to the father's/Father's established commands, rules, facts, and truth] which really isn't you but tells you the way the world works is a direct attack on creativity [your carnal nature seeking "oneness," i.e., consensus with the world]. We have to work to remove it [the father's/Father's voice/authority]." "When we learn to silence the inner voice [the guilty conscience which the father's/Father's authority engenders] that judges yourself and others, there is no limit to what we can accomplish, individually and as part of a team. Absence of judgment [no longer judging your "self" and/or others based upon your and/or their obeying or disobeying established commands, rules, facts, and truth] makes you more receptive to innovative ideas [adaptable to 'change,' i.e., accepting of your and their carnal nature]." (Michael Ray in Maslow on Management, Abraham Maslow)

"Maslow stated that creativity comes from ambiguity, uncertainty, living in the moment, lack of predictability—these qualities caused creativity to flow." (Jackie McGrath in Maslow on Management, Abraham Maslow)

"I have found whenever I ran across authoritarian students [those who preach, teach, and attempt to discuss established commands, rules, facts, and truth with others, insisting upon everyone being or doing right and not wrong—which gets in the way of, i.e., prevents dialogue] that the best thing for me to do was to break their backs immediately." "The correct thing to do with authoritarians is to take them realistically for the bastards they are and then behave toward them as if they were bastards."(Abraham Maslow, The Journals of Abraham Maslow)

The motto of this generation is: "Prevent someone who KNOWS from filling the empty space." (Wilfred Bion, A Memoir of the Future) Refusing to carry on a true discussion (communication based upon doing right and not wrong according to facts and truth) they can only communicate through dialogue ("feelings"), negating the father's/Father's authority and the guilty conscience for doing wrong, disobeying, sinning in the process. The father does not kill his children (who reject his authority), only driving them out. On the other hand, the children (who reject the father's/Father's authority) kill the father and all who support him and his authority. "Freud noted that patricide and incest are part of man's deepest [the child's carnal] nature." (Irvin Yalom, The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy) Those with "listening skills" only for "feelings" can not hear commands, rules, facts, and truth that get in the way of ("hurt") their "feelings." Rejecting the truth, i.e., believing a lie—that pleasure is the standard for "good"—they can only turn to "fables" (and those who propagate them) for the 'truth.'

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." 2 Timothy 4:3, 4

"Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken." Jeremiah 6:16, 17

"Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment." Ecclesiastes 11:9

"The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil." Psalms 36:1-4

"The heart is deceitful above all things [thinking pleasure is the standard for "good" instead of doing the Father's will, i.e., having to set aside pleasure, i.e., having to humble, deny, die to "self" in order to do God the Father's will, i.e., in order to do right and not wrong according the Father's commands, rules, facts, and truth], and desperately wicked [hating God the Father and His authority which "gets in the way," i.e. which prevents, i.e., inhibits or blocks it from enjoying the carnal pleasures of the 'moment'—which the world stimulates]: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 You, as a child of disobedience, i.e., using dialectic 'reasoning ('reasoning' from your "feelings"), i.e., through dialoguing with others 'justifying' your "self," can not see your heart, i.e., your hatred toward God the Father as being evil because your love of "self," i.e., your love of ("lust" for) pleasure—which the world stimulates—is "in the way," blinding you to the truth of the deceitfulness and wickedness of your heart.

"And for this cause [because men, as "children of disobedience," 'justify' themselves, i.e., 'justify' their love of "self" and the world, i.e., their love of the carnal pleasures of the 'moment' which the world stimulates over and therefore against the Father's authority] God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie [that pleasure is the standard for "good" instead of doing the Father's will]: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth [in the Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ], but had pleasure in unrighteousness [in their "self" and the pleasures of the 'moment,' which the world stimulates]." 2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12
